About Radio 5mbs
Radio 5mbs is passionate about cultivating Adelaide’s fine music community.
The Music Broadcasting Society of SA provides radio transmission of fine music across the Adelaide metropolitan area at 99.9 on the FM band. It also provides an online live streaming service, as well as making select programs available through our podcast channel.
We are a proudly independent, grass-roots organisation dedicated to broadcasting uninterrupted classical, jazz, blues, and world music collections across our radio and online channels.
Here, we champion a deep respect for the power of music and its unparalleled ability to move us, to remind us, and to connect us.
A community bound by music
Our local volunteer presenters host with honesty and integrity, driven solely by the opportunity to celebrate their genuine love of music with an appreciative, like-minded audience.
A diverse curated program schedule interweaves concert recordings, reviews and insightful discussion.
Quality is our only selection requisite and sees historic greats played alongside contemporary composers to craft a surprising and stimulating listening adventure.
We know that a network of support fosters the courage to achieve great things. That’s why we’re committed to bolstering the wider Adelaide arts industry with outside-radio broadcast opportunities, artist promotion, concerts, and events.
At 5mbs, we believe music is a pleasure best savoured with good company. And since 1993, we have carved a niche for Adelaide’s fine music lovers who believe it too.
