Songs of Pilgrims and Travellers

Let us contemplate Pilgrims and Travellers throughout the ages, pilgrims being very much the ‘in thing’ nowadays, even if travel seems a distant memory. Then, as did musicians Graham Strahle, Gillian Dooley and Garth Rowe, we can find music from the earliest times to  contemporary, which reflect the theme of travel, both actual and metaphorical. The result is a coming Fringe event, called Songs of Pilgrims and Travellers, from the 23/2 to 4/3 at various venues. When you hear Gillian and Graham discuss their music choices, much of it arranged by Garth, who was there in spirit, you may well wish to book a ticket through the Fringe website. Their last event sold out, so best not to delay.

Concerto Rhapsody

Helen Ayres was along  to the studio as well, as she is directing the Adelaide Hills Chamber Players, in Concerto Rhapsody – a series of concerts which also feature four soloists, including a Mozart concert aria with piano obbligato, Beethoven piano concert no 1, The Lark Ascending, and a Pavane by Frank Martin. Concerts are in different venues, and again tickets are selling fast. All details are on the Adelaide Hills Chamber Players website.
